Our Team

Johnny Terrazas

Lead Pastor

Johnny, aka "JT" is the lead pastor which simply means he’s the one who gets to toss and turn all night. He has a passion for teaching God’s Word through simple yet relevant messages that challenge and bring hope.

JT is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso and holds a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and a Masters degree in Counseling. He also is a graduate of Liberty University and holds a Masters degree in Theological Studies. It would be safe to say that he is the official nerd of the bunch. You can take a peek at the books on his shelf he’s planning to read this year here.

Aside from making the day to day leadership decisions and crafting weekend messages, JT enjoys spending time with his wife, wrestling with his two daughters, reading a few good books, and camping (in an RV, not a tent).

Jennie Lynne Terrazas

Worship Leader

Jennie is the musical one of the bunch who likes to go around knocking on doors singing “Do you want to build a snowman?” Her goal is to create an unforgettable Sunday morning experience through worship where everyone who walks in experiences the presence of Jesus.

She has a Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso. She is also currently working towards a Worship Certificate through Liberty University.

When she’s not at Hope City, Jennie spends her time raising her two daughters, raising the animals in their home (which is currently at five), and of course raising her husband — he’s pretty high maintenance. She loves coffee and anything chocolate. She is an avid fan of girly movies and musicals such as Anne of Green Gables, Little House on the Prairie and the Sound of Music. She is an outdoorsy type of girl and her dream is to someday own a horse.

Courtney Neria

Kids Ministry Director

Courtney is passionate about blending the two most important influences in a child's life: home and church.  After volunteering since 2014, she decided to take the reins and is now overseeing all the kids from birth to fifth grade.

Courtney is excited that Hope City is establishing its roots in the very same building and community that she grew up in, met great friends, and experienced God’s love for the very first time. Courtney is also fully invested in the future of Hope City as she serves the little “Hopesters” in our children’s ministry.

Courtney has been married to her first and only love, Pete since October 2000. Family comes first in the Neria household as they love to swim or play at the park with their twin boys and daughter. Most days you’ll find Courtney reading a good book on her Kindle or running away from Tarantula Hawks (Google it, now!).

Bobby Hardwick

Associate Pastor/Student Ministry Director

Bobby is the Associate Pastor and Student Ministry Director whose superpowers are fueled by caffeine and chocolate. There is never a shortage of sugar and candy in his office, which might explain the line of staff members constantly waiting outside his door looking for a sugar rush. Bobby’s heart is for discipleship and raising up the next generation to be passionate followers of Christ.

Bobby currently has an Associates degree in Advertising Graphics and Design as well as a Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems. He has served in ministry as a worship pastor and youth leader since 2002 in several different churches in Texas and Ohio.

Bobby and his wife Desiree have been married since 2006 and together they have three amazing children. Family time is a pretty big deal for Team Hardwick. They love to spend time together during movie and game nights as well as going hiking and camping (in a tent, not an RV….they’re hardcore like that!)

When he’s not busy being an awesome husband and dad, you might find Bobby playing his guitar, repurposing old furniture or eating chocolate (ya it’s a hobby, look it up)

Tina Aragon

Community Relations Ambassador

Tina is our Community Relations Ambassador. She has the shortest name but the longest title on our staff. With a Master’s degree in Public Relations from Park University and over a decade of working in the non-profit sector, Tina uses her experience, and her outgoing personality, to connect the church to the community and the community to the church.

When she’s not using her friend connections and getting the “Jesus price” for the church, she is shaking it up at Freedom Nutrition, literally. At her Herbalife business, she makes at least 300 shakes a week! Tina also loves to shake up the Kingdom of God by sharing the good news of Jesus with her friends and everyone she meets.

Tina is the only staff member who doesn’t root for the Dallas Cowboys; which is blasphemy for sure! She’s a die hard Broncos fan; more specifically, a Von Miller fan. She loves spending time with family and her rescue dog, Shep (such an original name for a German Shepard).

Even though Herbalife shakes are her favorite, don’t be surprised if you catch her breaking into Bobby’s stash of chocolates. After all, the secret ingredient in the best recipes is always chocolate!

Pete Neria

Communications Director

Pete serves as our Communications Director.  He has a passion to showcase our “Hopesters” lives and stories in a visually creative and compelling way with the use of photography, video and social media.

With 12 years of previous experience working as a web developer and UI/UX designer (that’s geeky, techy lingo), Pete brings his creativity and technical expertise to ensure that Hope City looks and operates at its absolute best. In other words, he makes sure that our website, app, social media platforms, and print mediums are engaging and consistently pointing to the incredible story of a God who pursues us and invites us into a personal relationship with Him.

Pete has been married to Hope City’s very own Kids Director, Courtney, since October of 2000. They have three beautiful kids and are excited that God has blessed them with the opportunity to work and grow together as Hope City team members.

In his spare time, Pete loves hiking in the beautiful mountains of El Paso, listening to worship music, playing his electric guitar on the worship team, photography and the Dallas Cowboys (which, by the way, happens to be God’s team).
