Jill is a transplant to the big city of El Paso with her husband, Josh, who is active duty in the Air Force—yes, the Air Force ?—at Fort Bliss. They most recently moved from Minot, ND, but she grew up in the northeast corner of Mississippi in a town of fewer than 3,000 people where she first learned about Jesus in a church of about 50! Before long, she ventured off to college next door in Alabama where she met a handsome football player who eventually became her groom. After graduating with a degree in English Literature and minors in merchandising and marketing from the University of North Alabama (ROAR LIONS!), she accepted the offer to attend graduate school at her dream college, Auburn University (WAR EAGLE!) where she graduated with a Master of Technical and Professional Communication while Josh started his career in the Air Force.
For the time they will have at Hope City, Jill’s goal is to meet people where they are at and help them grow in a relationship with Jesus by getting them connected to His people. She is living proof of how deeper, positive relationships have turned her life around. From running away from Jesus to running after Him, it all started when she stepped out in faith to take next steps.
Any chance she gets, Jill is outside. She loves the sun, so she’s often lounging on her back porch with her Bible and a cup of Yerba mate or running her adopted pup Tikka at the park (where there’s actual grass). If Jill’s not sweating it out doing Crossfit, then she’s probably eating something paleo…or Chick-Fil-A, or chocolate. Jill has a lactose allergy, so she’s convinced that once she receives her new eternal body, her first meal in heaven will be pizza and ice cream!
