Johnny, known to most as “JT,” serves as the Lead Pastor of Hope City Community Church. That simply means he carries the heart of the vision and the weight of prayer. JT is passionate about teaching God’s Word in a way that’s simple, relevant, and deeply challenging—messages that bring both hope and direction to everyday life.

JT is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso, where he earned a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and a Master’s degree in Counseling. He also holds a Master of Theological Studies from Liberty University. With a stack of books always nearby, he’s proudly the resident nerd of the team.

When he’s not leading the staff or crafting weekend messages, JT loves spending time with his wife and their three kids—two daughters and one son. Most days you’ll find him wrestling on the living room floor, cheering them on in whatever they’re into, diving into a new book, and enjoying some Chick-fil-A.

He leads with heart, vision, and a deep desire to see the lost found and the found set free.
