Hope City Community Church is a non-denominational, Spirit-filled and empowered church. As a non-denominational church, we are evangelistic, focusing on biblical teaching and preaching more than on church tradition as the guide to our church behavior.

As evangelical Christians, the Bible is our final authority for faith and practice. However, since the Bible is a diverse collection of narrative, poetry, law and letters, it is helpful to summarize its teaching in a concise form that members of our community of faith can grasp.

About God
We believe there is one true living God who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit; equal in power and glory; that this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all.

He is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He is Almighty, All Wise, Omnipresent and at the same time is transcendent above and beyond His creations. He is good, loving, and merciful at the same time He is Holy, just, and righteous. {Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14}

About Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit, We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, teachings, that He is one and the same as God, and that He was fully human and fully God; His substitutionary atoning death; bodily resurrection; ascension into heaven; perpetual intercession for His people; and personal, visible return to earth. {Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-15, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14, 15: I Corinthians 15:3, 4; Romans 1:3, 4; Acts 1:9-11; I Timothy 6:14, 15; Titus 2:13}

About The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgement and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower in ministry all who believe in Christ. {2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13, 5:18; Galatians 5:25}

About The Bible
We believe that all Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, and they are the infallible rule of faith and practice {2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; Psalm 12:6: 119:105, 160; Proverbs 30:5}

About Humanity & Salvation
We believe every human being is separated from God and responsible for their sin, but that forgiveness redemption, and salvation are freely offered to all by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and that eternal life begins the moment one accepts Jesus Christ into his/her life by faith. {Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1}

About Discipleship
We believe that to follow Christ is to be on a journey towards Christ likeness; and the cost of discipleship as taught in Luke 14:25-35 involves committed obedience. {Matthew 16:24; John 8:31, 15:8, 10:27, 12:26; I Peter 2:21}

About Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We believe Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the Church; water baptism by immersion and communion. {Matthew 28:19-20; Corinthians 10:14-17, 11:23-26}

About the Kingdom of God and The Final Judgement
We believe in the literal Second Coming of Christ, which will be visible and personal to all. After Christ returns to reign, He will bring about the final defeat of Satan and all of his minions and works, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgement and the eternal blessing of the righteous and eternal conscious punishment of the wicked. Finally, God will be all in all and His kingdom, His rule and reign, will be fulfilled; and He will be worshipped forever. {John 3:16, 12:25, 14:2-3, 5:28; Romans 6:23; Matthew 25:31-46, Revelation 20:10, 15, 7:9-12; I Corinthians 15:24-28}
